What is ACR?
Aid to the Church in Russia (A. C. R.) exists to mobilize financial, cultural, humanitarian, and spiritual resources to meet the enormous and pressing needs of the people of Russia, who are rebuilding after decades of totalitarian rule. In meeting those needs, A. C. R. funds and implements many initiatives, including providing humanitarian aid to the people of Russia, assisting educational endeavors and institutions, building or rebuilding structures of cultural or religious importance, and supporting clergy and religious. In sum, A. C. R. seeks to help the Russian people in their goal of recreating a humane country fully integrated into the community of nations. A. C. R. operates with the cooperation of the Russian Orthodox Church and with the approval of the Roman Catholic bishops in Russia and the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in the United States.
