Church of the Transfiguration
Tver, 1995-1997

An ancient, historic city in Russia, Tver had only the smallest of Catholic chapels functioning after the close of Soviet period in 1991.
Experienced in business, the military, and the academy, and after a stint in Slovakia,
Rev. Richard Masin-who actually was born in Slovakia but grew up in the West-arrived in Russia at the direction of Archbishop Kondrusiewicz. In the spring 1995, he began building the Church of the Transfiguration. After several years, Archbishop Kondrusiewicz asked A. C. R. to help. The walls were about to undergo their second exposure to a Russian winter without a protective roof. A. C. R. made a contribution, as did others. The church now has a roof and work proceeds to finish the last phases of construction.
